Incorrect Memory Allocation for New KVM Server Orders and New Installations
ResolvedWe are currently experiencing a technical issue with the provisioning of new servers and with new installations of existing servers. The NVMe hard drive is not being set to the correct size specified in the order. If an additional HDD was ordered, it is currently not being added to the server.
We are already working intensively to investigate the issue. To prevent further faulty deployments, we have temporarily disabled new orders in the shop.
As far as we know, existing servers that are not being reinstalled are not affected. We recommend that you refrain from performing any new installations until the issue is resolved.
If you are affected, we ask for your patience. We will keep you updated on the resolution and next steps here on the status page.

Identified (4 Wochen ago)
We have identified the cause: An error in our system that controls server setup causes it to restart unexpectedly under certain circumstances. If this happens while a server is being set up, the final setup steps are not completed. These steps include adjusting the NVMe drive to the subscribed size and adding a subscribed HDD.
A fix is already in the works and will be tested before release. Until then, new orders in the store will remain disabled, and we continue to recommend that you refrain from performing new installations.
Existing servers that are not being reinstalled remain unaffected. We will check any servers already affected once the issue is resolved and adjust them to match the ordered configuration.
We will keep you informed about the next steps here on the status page.

Resolved (4 Wochen ago)
The issue has been resolved. In addition to the unexpected reboots already described, brief connection interruptions within our infrastructure could also cause individual setup steps to be skipped. We have corrected both causes and added additional safeguards to the setup process: The NVMe drive is now set to the reserved size before the first boot, and the addition of a reserved HDD is verified and automatically retried if necessary.
New orders in the shop are once again possible, and new installations can be performed as usual. We continue to monitor deployments closely.
What to do if you’re affected:
Was your server ordered or reinstalled during the outage, and does it not have the subscribed NVMe capacity, or is the subscribed HDD missing? If so, please perform a fresh installation via the Control Panel: in your KVM server’s management section under the “Operating System & ISO” tab.
Important: A reinstallation will delete all data on the server. Please only perform this if there is no data on the server that you wish to keep.
If a fresh install is not possible for you—for example, because there is already data on the server—please create a support ticket. We will then address your server’s issue on a case-by-case basis.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
